(May 1st, 2015) Thanks for the generous help and invitation from Ms. Jessica Hayes, Vice Chair of San Diego County Democratic Party South Area, SDAAFE president Frank Xu, board member Paul Yung attended the proposal meeting of Peace Club for Teens at Calvary Church in San Diego downtown. This club was created to assist the prevention and elimination the violence as well as promote community awareness for young generations in inner city San Diego.
Various city and county offices send their staff there. State assemblywoman Dr. Shirley Weber and City council member David Alvarez also join the discussion. Though Dr. Weber represents the neighboring district 79th, she showed great interest and gave many detailed suggestions drawing from her long teaching and public service career.
Mr. Alvarez and Mr. Luis Monteagudo, director of communication from San Diego County Board of Supervisors Greg Cox office, informed the organizer Ms. Maria Stacey that both offices have special funding available to support the proposed program.
State assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez from district 80th, who is currently representing the proposed area, also send her staff there.
