San Diego Asian Americans For Equality (SDAAFE) Foundation Endorses Ray Ellis for San Diego City Council.
“Ray is a strong leader with traditional American values. He values individuals based on their character strengths, hardworking ethic and personal qualifications. He is a firm believer in merit based systems whether it is in the workforce, education or public sector. Over the past year, Ray has demonstrated great rapport, attentiveness, and empathy with the local Asian American communities on issues of common concern. He actively participated in SDAAFE sponsored events, from our first installation meeting to the recent Peter Liang rally. He has done his share to stand with us when we are in need, now it is our turn to respond in kind. We will mobilize the Asian American community to support Ray in the June 7th primary which is shaping up to be the most hotly contested race in San Diego,” said Frank Xu, SDAAFE president.
“As a small business owner and community leader, Ray has real life experience on how to excel and effect positive change. He would lead City Hall reform to reduce the cost structure of doing business in San Diego (government fees are currently 47% of the construction cost) which would create job and grow wage, and to and to put more funding back into our neighbors, streets and infrastructure. He supports fiscally responsible governance to mitigate the risk of the $2-billion-dollar pension gap. He also campaigns for the development of diversified, locally controlled water resource for sustainable growth. This is why as Asian Americans, we endorse Ray for City Council,” said Dr. Haibo Huang, SDAAFE board member.
