SDAAFE condemns all political violence

San Diego Asian Americans For Equality (SDAAFE), a local non-partisan organization advocating equality for Asian Americans and all Americans, condemns in the strongest possible terms all political violence.

On August 12, 2017, during a violent clash of a group of white supremacists and Antifa counter-protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, one person was killed and 19 others were injured when a car sped into the crowd in a possible act of political terrorism. This happens after a recent string of violent incidences including Berkeley riots and failed assassination of GOP House lawmakers.

SDAAFE condemns all political violence and all extremists behind these coward acts.  SDAAFE condemns unequivocally white supremacists, KKK, neo-Nazi, Antifa, and all extremist groups. We call on our communities to join us in denouncing all forms of violence, bigotry, and hatred. We urge members of our communities to restrain from attending potentially violent protests and from inflammatory languages when engaged in political discussions. Political violence has no place in America, the land of Liberty and the Rule of Law. Without a free, tolerant, and inclusive society, our mission of more Asian Americans participating in politics would be as real as a mirage. We call on our communities to be vigilant to look out for signs of potential violence and inform the police should the situation warrants.
