San Diego Asian Americans for Equality (SDAAFE) announced today to start a fund raising campaign for Solutions For Change (SFC) to help them deal with the serious shortage of essentials due to the unusual and rapidly evolving situation surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19).

SFC is a San Diego local organization focusing on solving the issues of family homeless. Currently they are hosting about 300 homeless families in helping equip them with skills, knowledge and resources. For details, please visit: https://solutionsforchange.org/.

Here is the list of essentials they are urgently in need:

  • Nonperishable food items
  • Trash bags
  • Toilet paper
  • Diapers
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Isopropyl Alcohol 70-90%
  • Pure Aloe Vera
  • Hand soap
  • Masks

How you can help:

1) Donate the essentials if you can. SDAAFE will set up 3 places for you to drop off you donations: Carmel Valley, Rancho Penasquitos and Carlsbad. Please send email to [email protected] before you do so, and we will let you know the exact addresses.

You can drop off your donation in the boxes anytime at the designated locations. You can also directly drop off your stuff at the SFC headquarter: 722 W California Ave, Vista, CA 92083

For those who donate essentials: if you have the receipts, please send the copy of your receipts to [email protected]. SDAAFE has currently secured a private source to match all the donation made to SFC up to $10,000!

2) Make a cash donation:

You can make donation through their website at: https://give.solutionsforchange.org/give/93294/#!/donation/checkout

In the “Comment” line, please indicate SDAAFE to let them know that this donation is referred by SDAAFE. Once the donation is made, please send a copy of your receipt to [email protected]. SDAAFE has currently secured a private source to match all the donation made to SFC up to $10,000!

Important: Please make all the donation no later by April 15, 2020.

An Important Note to those who are concerned about the medical-grade face masks for our San Diego local hospitals:

We are fully aware of the serious shortage of medical essentials including face masks, and are in contact with the personals from the local hospitals. We will let everybody know once we figure out the appropriate approaches to make donations.

Thank you for your contribution to the San Diego local community!

Together, we will fight against this fast spreading virus! Let’s help each other during this tough time!
